Distant Doorways

Distant Doorways

Distant Doorways in the night

Should I run and hide in fright?

Hallways and long corridors

Hidden keys to locked up doors

A whisper, a creak

Sounds from the past

A haunting reminder of things

That won’t last

A vision of things to come

Distant Doorways in the night

Sounds like a recurring nightmare that could certainly be unsettling. I think those keys need to be found and those doors finally opened to end it. Easy for me to say, right? :D

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
