    District

    You’ve left my Heart

And I’m wondering where I’m at

    The only thing keeping me

    Is my Faith

My belief that I’m not meant to end alone

    Reliving all the happy moments

    Between the two of us

    Then the alarm goes off

    Just another night

    Of

    Dreaming of

    You

    These days

    I have to tell myself

    To get out of bed

    Breath

    Live on

    Past the memory of you

    You were a good moment

    Cheers

To the year I lost you

    One toast to the next

    Till I pass out

    Returning

    To your memory

    Holding you again

    Your returning look of Love

O how I Love to Dream

    Don’t you dare wake me

This is all I have left

    To get me through

    The emptiness

    Bestowed upon my Heart

When you walked out that door

    Leaving my life

    Sleeping alone

    What a double bladed sword

    For the Heart

Poignant writing. Cheers/To the year I lost you/One toast to the next/Till I pass out. Nice work.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
