Poem Commentary

I haven't written anything in a while (I wouldn't call it writer's block, more like writer's distraction), so I've been seaching Images all morning, and saw this one, and here's what I wrote.

Dive

Confined to the surface

of laws and rules,

conforming to the ways

of patterns and schools,

am I destined for greatness

or being led by fools?

I search for reality

in the core of illusion,

I shuffle through the masses

fighting fear and confusion,

no room to move

I yearn for seclusion.

The limits of gravity

I willingly defy,

hoping for a glimpse

of creations eye,

I conquer my fear

and dive into the sky.

The last line is the best part...............................................

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
