    Done

    DONE

     

    Glazed eyes,

    Unconscious mind

    Numbness no more feelings,

    No spirit left to try.

     

    Empty shell,

    Damaged soul,

    Tortured heart,

    Withered world.

     

    Drowning in blackness

    Like an endless sea

    Unclear up from down

    Direction is unsure to me.

     

    Blackened days,

    Endless nights,

    Makes no difference

    Not a star in sight

     

    A dying rose

    Leaves wilted and brown

    Buds withered up

    Thorns are all that’s left

     

    Shattered mirror

    Reflection impaired

    Cracked and imperfect

    Remnants of what was

     

    Screaming inside

    Disguised by a smile

    No one sees

    The real “ME” is dying

     

    Give and I give

    But what for

    Love eludes me

                                           In my face it slams the door.

    This poem rings so true for experiences in my life. You did a great job. I like the part about the rose shriveling up leaving nothing but thorns. Well written. Love it.
