Poem Commentary

I don't care who you are or where you come from, somewhere, someone is looking over your shoulder judging you based merely on assumptions.

Don't Color Me Monster

Don't Color Me Monster !!

Because I'm so much stronger than you,
Or because your weak! You ignorant fool!
Because of the desperate lies you weave,
Or because you fail the world, to deceive!
Because I am a survivor and a warrior,
Or because of stupidity, you tend to defer!

Don't Color Me Monster !!

Because I'm not your closest friend,
Or because pain; You can't comprehend!
Because the path you chose was wrong,
Or because you find, you don't belong!
Because I am beautiful, a masterpiece,
Or because I am that, you wish to cease!

Don't Color Me Monster !!

Because your standing, hiding behind your mask!
Because who am I? All you have to do is ask!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
