Don't Dwell
What dark force drives me?Searching the endless days
for something I know I
may never find. Wasting time
looking into faces and seeing
only empty responses in their eyes.
Feeling like a vampire who's last
remaining ounces of his own blood
are melting away and being replaced
by some foreign body who's soul
purpose is to introduce abject longing,
loneliness, and self-pity. I am not
the person I used to be, nor the person
I became after that. I don't know who
I am anymore, or where I am going, or who with!
One thing I do know is that I am tired,
of looking, wanting, feeling, not knowing, caring.
All I can do is just live and
see what is going to happen, if my heart and soul can find that much
patience and understanding.
