Don't Know

Don't Know

Pull me from the pit of this storm.
Don't know how much longer I can continue to hold on.
Cried so many tears that I cannot see.
I'm so glad you're watching over me.

Lead me in out of the rain.
Don't know how much longer I can maintain.
Did all that I know to do.
Now I'm leaning and depending on you.

Guide me out of the darkness to the light.
Don't know if I can face another night.
I will never loose the grip of your hand.
You gave me the courage and the will to stand.

Roll back the rushing water.
Don't know if I can go much farther.
I'm so glad you rescued me.
Your love and mercy set me free.

Shield me from the penetration of the sun.
Don't know how much harder I can fight to overcome.
You reached down and steadied my pace.
Because of you, I know I'll finish my race.

uplifting, good job!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
