Don't Little Girl

Don't Little Girl

Don't cry little girl,
you're much too young.
Enjoy your life, go out
with friends and have fun.
Don't fear little girl,
for it will only make you weaker.
If you don't face your problems head-on,
they'll just drag you in deeper.
Don't speak little girl,
they won't understand a word.
It's like you're playing a guitar,
but strumming a new chord.
Don't listen little girl,
the screams will stop one day.
Hopefully, one day soon but,
for now, you must remain.
Don't cut little girl,
your blood is too precious to waste.
Something better lies out there for you,
it will reach you one of these days.
Don't grow up so fast little girl,
you're bound to easily get lost.
You have no idea what you're doing,
or the pain it will cause.
Don't swallow the pills little girl,
please put down the blade.
Someone will lend a helping hand,
you're bound to be saved.
Don't think of another scheme little girl,
step away from the rope.
Please listen to me little girl,
deep down you'll find there's hope.
Little girl, are you
starting to see
why alive is what
you're meant to be?
Little girl,
respond to me.
You are starting
to scare me.
Why did you do it, little girl?
Why did you kill yourself?
Why did yo leave us all confused,
wondering if you've visited hell?
You left us confused and worrying,
you left us all in tears.
You should've spoken out, little girl.
You should've told us you shed many tears.

Wow, dark and honest, just the way I like it. Either you have an amazing sense of empathy or this was really personal for you. Suicide is such a heartbreaking thing and you really captured that essence of this piece. I especially like the line "..you are bound to be saved..." Very touching word, good job!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
