Don't Promise Me

Don't Promise Me

You asked me what enspires me...
I told you "You".

Of course you didn't believe me.
But I didn't know how to prove it.

A few months go past...
And I see you...

You open up your arms...
And i run in between them...

I said "I want to be in your arms forever."
You said not to worry, because I always will be.
I sighed...because now I can't believe you.
And you pulled away and looked at me and asked me what was wrong.

I spoke quietly and said......

"Because little things like that causes you to let me go.
How do I know you won't let go of me forever?"

And you said nothing....

Some people tell us what we want to hear, others show us how important we truly are to them. 10 for this raw emotional write.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
