Dragon Sleepwalker

Waking up out in the dark.
A dream of walking in the park.
Something most will never see.
This Dragon in me is now free.
Out again in this darkend night.
These feelings in me now take flight.
This lasting pain I felt is now gone.
The things I did that once felt wrong.
They no longer keep me up at night.
I just sit here at home and I write.
The sun is coming up so fast.
I wish that it would always last.
A lost soul caught in the breeze.
I stand here under this old Tree.
I look up at the bright blue sky.
No more tears fall from my eyes.
Some may say a new day has come.
A day filled with all kinds of fun.
A Poets dream of love and joy.
Like a child with a new toy.
I face the days as they pass.
A gust of wind like a blast.
As the words fall out of my brain.
landing on the pages just like rain.
I have to wonder where did I go?
If it isn't me who would know?
Like a shadow on a wall.
Only here to take a fall.
I lay my head down to rest.
I only hope it is for the best.
It feels like I am never here.
This Dragon whispers my ear.
Get back on your feet.
No time for sleep.
This thing called fate
This empty plate.
In the end we all will meet.
The only thing that we must beat.

I love reading your poems when I am down. It feels like they take me to a different place with their imagery.

great poem dragon very deep love the imagery you give to the reader I could see this all as plain as a day in front of me as i read each line I look forward to reading more

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
