Dream of Chasing Angels
Once there was a little boy who was just six years oldHe had a little sister, she was three I'm told
He loved her with all his heart
They played outside together every day
And oh, how excited she would get
Whenever a butterfly flew her way
She'd run, her arms extended
Attempting to catch it, but to her dismay
The butterfly would outpace her
And then it would fly away
She would say of the butterfly's wings that they were
"Big pretty wings like a angels"
So whenever the little boy and his baby sister tried to catch them
Their mother said that they were "chasing angels"
When days like these would pass to evening
And it was time for bed
The little boy and his baby sister
Would climb the stairs to rest their heads
Their mother would tuck them in and kiss them both goodnight
"Dream of chasing angels", she'd say as she turned out the light
The little boy and his baby sister would then drift off to sleep
Knowing that Gods angels would watch over them while they dream
In the morning they'd both awaken and after breakfast
Go outside to play, hoping that maybe, just maybe
They'd catch a butterfly this day.
