    Drifting

    Drifting away
    on and endless sea
    reflections
    on what use to be.
    A heart, a soul
    joined as one,
    branded forever a love
    come undone.
    Time and space rips apart
    what was never ment
    to be.
    Floating on a black abyss
    the starless night
    envelopes me.
    Waves crash around
    the hollow
    shell of loneliness.
    Into the dark under world
    it is forever
    bound.

You give us the thoughts of anguish when losing the one we thought we wanted so bad, and that someone turns out to be the one who walks away and leaves us with our soul a-dying.........

Allie: Love the pace, the short lines move me to read on. When love leaves, it leaves us drifting. Great job telling that tale. Thanks for sharing. Charles

You so beautifully portray the loss of a love in this poem. I love the images that this poem brings to mind through its words and feelings. Nice job.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
