Drug Baby Mulatto

Drug baby mulatto,
sin child of a loveless world --
they exult you,
to hide themselves.

Drug baby mulatto,
love child of a sinful world --
be their symbol of change.

A change of such hope,
that will vindicate the world --
you can unite,
drug baby mulatto.

Conceived by criminal license --
the drug baby mulatto,
rids the world
of liberty by law.

Knowing law was oppressive.

Knowing law will set you free.

Drug baby mulatto,
sin child of a loveless world --
they exult you,
to hide themselves.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
