    Poem Commentary

Just yesterday, I found out that someone I never actually met, had passed on-It struck me hard-I pray for him and his family-I truly believe Kage was an exceptional human being. I dealt with my loss the best way I know how-getting as far into the woods as my feet would take me, and writing-REST IN PEACE KAGE!!

    Eagle Spirit

    Through the misty woodland
Looking for some peace of mind
    Where I can find it

    Wet moss and twigs break
    My heartbeat and breath quicken
    but I must move on

    My mind is numb now
    Thoughts of a departed friend
    weigh so heavily

    Kept searching further
    not knowing where I'd stop
    this path winds like life

    I hear so much joy
in the springtime seeps and streams
    It's quiet and still

    At the water's edge
    like from some mystical dream
    stopped me in my tracks

    Soaring right by me
    Eagle spirit caught my eye
    Kage was flying by...

The eagle is quite a thing to behold........your words bring to life the essence of your friend in the flight of this majestic bird. A wonderful verse you have created here, Earthly........................................g

Perfect! This write is peace, and life, and resurrection! What a strong woman you are, and so intune! I love that. I too, share this relationship with all that breathes/ as you do. The beauty of this write stems beyond, a simple 'great write'. I felt the woods, I felt the air, and smelled that crisp every-green, dirt smell!(God, I love that smell!!)-and most of all, I felt Kage! You are an earth-angel!-hugz,Maddi

earthly, A poem that memorializes kage is a wonderful poetic piece. You have reached out to the readers and they too can feel your loss as you trek further into the woods to mourn. ginga

I did not get to know Kage... I am sorry he left too soon... thank you for giving us this information and your woodland letting go... even watching him soar ....

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
