    Poem Commentary

    Written during a rock and pivotal time in my life, this poem came to me as a drove, along a country road, thinking of all that I'd lose, if my life situation changed. There are bits and pieces of the things I'd lose; if that happened. Loss and hope are woven into this poem...as carefully as I could manage.

    Ebb n Flow

    Waterline high, waterline low,
      ocean's tides, ebb-n-flow,
    into tomorrow, off we go,
      our destiny, we do not know.

    Broken in two, two pieces apart,
      healthy chambers, beating hearts,
    beginning scribe, at the start,
      hidden talent, renaissance art.

    Setting sun, finger like rays reach,
      student, teacher, not easy to teach,
    grace and forgiveness I beseech,
      professors instruct, pastors preach.

    Grace and goodness, sacrificed Son,
      weapons quartered, wars are done,
    children laughing, games of fun,
      cross, nails, new life begun.
