    Echo
    I watch you preen and puff and pose.
    I gently stroke your fierce ego.
    I listen, rapt, to words that fall
    from your lips, demanding awe.

    In all things I must agree
    All for you and none for me
    Egg shells scattered 'round my feet
    bear my shameful testimony

    Appeasement, placation
    Skills of my trade
    I am become a husk of love,
    Your love lives in your looking glass

    Stolen gifts can't be returned
    Love is not love that spurns
    My love is finally flying free
    No longer will I your echo be

    I hear the sound of the wind It's heart beating me again I try to rise but I simply cannot You're vibrating without a plot I can feel you striking my shadow As I daydream of sunny meadows I speak but your jaded ears are closed So I create another rift like I'm supposed To in order for you to make your echo When I've continually asked you to let go

    This poem is very real to me with the peices of my past that it emotionally brings to the surface. You describe these events so well, as if the writer were actually there. This write was a reminder to me in that my experiences are not unique, and shared by others-very healing. Thank you.

    There is nothing more pathetic than a narcissist... There is nothing genuine in an egocentric maniac... These bad boys with the magnetic charm and i'm-all-that attitude are collectors - of disposable people and throw-away relationships... You don't take 'em home to Moma, and you don't have their children... A good wake up write TP... Banner piece for women everywhere...
