Edge

Poem Commentary

The never ending battle in one's Heart not to fall in Love with another who donsn't feel the same, and who will surely Break one's Hearts.

Edge

On the Edge

Sharing Dances and Sunsets

On the Edge of Love

Looking down this cliff

The plunge isn’t worth the Heart Ache

A fall I’ll clearly never recover from

Looking down the Edge

It’s a long ways down my Heart

Don’t push me over

In less your waiting at the bottom

Ready to catch my Love

Day Dreaming of a future with you

Starting to lose my balance

Starting to fall right over that Edge

You’ve caught me just in time

Pulled me back to Loneliness

You’ve walked away

Leaving me standing

On my own two feet

I don’t know if I should be

Thankful, Angry or Hurt

In this very moment

I’ve Learned a valuable life lesson

Whenever I wonder why

Whenever I need a reminder

Or I miss you

I need only return

To the Edge

And admire the Beauty of the view

Of what almost was my Demise

Taking a quiet minute

To reflect

On how close I’d almost gotten

I don’t let myself go any further than that

As the lessons learned Thunder through my Soul

Very effective poem, although it made me sad :( Your words painted the picture so clearly. I loved the metaphor of The Edge. Great job!

thank you, i had a sad ending when I said good bye to her... (on the 16th of this month) the wound in my Heart is still fresh yet surprisingly im doing alright-and thats the subject of my next writing I just cant get the message across just right, so im in that re-write phase.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
