    Emcee

I got love for the emcee
    spittin truth,revolution and light
The light of those who reside on the grind
Hustlin' in the modern day cotton fields
livin' in the slums and dying by the gun for the ignorance
    of government.
    To the oppressor:
We have eyes to witness your corruption
Ears to hear the cries of our people
And I am left with an enlightend soul that is torn between
    MLK's vision and reality..
    DO YOU HEAR US?

(Cousinsoren contnued) This poem poses curious questions ,for example, "Who is the emcee (Master of Ceremonies) "spittin truth, revolution and light" ?? MLK is Martin Luther King. Is Barak Obama a significant realization of "MLK's vision" WHA

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
