    ESTEEM, ME?

    Self-esteem
Can I borrow some of yours
I haven't been able to find mine
Think mom took it with her
    By accident I'm sure
    But yours should help
At least 'til I acquire some of my own

    Laying awake at night
    Awakened by my own tears
    Tears flowing from my heart
    Feeling nothing but alone
    Loneliness surrounds me
Mistakes of the past are my blanket
My mother's love my pillow on which my tears fall
    The scriptures held in memory
    As a dull pocket knife
Make me hold and squeeze tighter
    The pillow of mom's love.

    LOVE TAINTED AND UNQUENCHED
LOVE FULL AND EVEN NOW OVERFLOWING

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
