    Even in death

    Her last words ring on:
"I 'll love you even in death"
Like a bell that sits on church tower calling for devotion,
    her words ring on.
    Though not here,
    the warmth of your touch
    clings to my skin
    like a plague upon it.
    Time flies,
    but the thought of you
    sticks to my memories
    like hair to the head
    refusing to grow wings.....

    Every night,
    I see the invisibility
    of your presence
    hovering over me
    I can swear I do.
I hear the echo of your silence
    reverberating in my head
As you dangled between life and death.
    Although you spoke no words
    everything you said was heard
the words that came out of your eyes:
" This is how far I can go
someday we'll meet in a better place......"
but her last words linger on:
" I'll love you even in death "

So sad, but profound and well expressed. I really like this even though it's about sadness. Our journey's are sometimes short but so meaningful! Wonderful!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
