How do You Choose?

Poem Commentary

Comparison of that which is us.

How do You Choose?

The world gives us a new day to look at the bay where there is no water.
Then comes the rain.
I watch the rain and listen to the lightning as it rumbles by.
How do you watch the thunder you ask, use your ears.
It starts each day and you get to choose the way you fit in a new beginning each time you come back from your trip called sleep.
I can see why some would rather be a watcher than the one to make that choice of which way to go, who to know, or just to see what to be when the light comes on.
The greatest computer can not walk or fly as I so how are we to compare?
See the space we fill is enough to be what we are or want to be.
A smile does more than all the computers made.
And that comes from us.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
