Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ gives me the ability to face each day with both the joy and sadness. My anchor holds! Ken

Faith In The Morning

A morning is just a day that has not finished. A brilliant light unfolding the drama of the day which steals its light away, leaving darkness awaiting another turn of the earth. The moments spent between light and darkness appears lengthy and yet numbing, but in reality, only a moment surrounded by the experiences of all one’s senses. The light awakens a weary heart to the forthcoming experience that the day offers, only to be shadowed by the moments passing with unfulfilled expectations. Time marches forward, leaving footprints on the soul that either encourages or discourages. Faith bridges the past from the future, the seconds from the hours. Our days are counted and viewed as hiccups in time. Sometimes the breaths are held, sometimes expressed. A day brings joy to some, heartache for others, each person exchanging one for the other through the journey of life. Faith gives strength to experience the day's heartache with expressed determination that “this too, shall pass.” One without faith holds onto the day as one trying to catch oxygen released from leaves. Grasping at emptiness or a substance promising relief as a rubber band is stretched to its breaking point to only leave a dangled piece of rubber. What then holds firm through the walk through our limited time? The anchor of faith does! Anchored to Christ as firm as the nails in the cross held the hands of our Savior, only to be released by the call and will of God. My anchor holds! A life lived without faith is a life lived without breath. A figment that is here but for a moment; only to return back to dust from which it was drawn, like a magnet pulls iron toward itself. Faith gives purpose to life, sense to the nonsense, light to the darkness, oxygen to the lungs. Without faith there is no plan, just chaos, emptiness without substance, despair and hopelessness. Faith hold promise among displeasure, hope among despair, joy in the midst of heartbreak, a reason for existence. Only as one looks at the brevity of life can one catch a glimmer of eternity. The morning that does not end in darkness, the light that never diminishes, the joy that never ends and the hope that is once and all fulfilled. Ken Haines 2010

thank you, I am so thankful I am anchored to Him. I wanted to express my faith. Glad you felt it inspiring! Ken

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
