    FAITH WITHOUT WORKS

At the alter you made your request,
Hoping that God would hear and send His best.
Plenty of prayers have gone on up,
But while you wait the blessings got stuck.

The following week you anointed with oil.
    You waited a day, and
    Then added two more.
    For Mustard seed faith,
    Existed no more.

    Growing tired of such,
    Then it came to you:
    Faith without works
    Is dead, just as
    The Good Book said.

    Committed to trying again,
    Your hands grew tired,
As your faith and works delivered,
    The things you desired.

Faith without works....What a powerful statement. Your poems take me back to my teenage years when my mother made me sit still and listen to the wonderful word of God. Thank you for always reach out and renew the mind. You are such a blessing to me. May God continue to bless your vision.

That is so true; Faith without works is dead. We must always add an action to our faith. When Jesus performed different miracles, while on earth, He had the person to do an action before the miracle manifested. We must remember to do our part, and wait for God to do the rest. Thanks for sharing this wonderful poem. I really enjoyed reading it. God bless!!!

let's always love God for He is always beside you, protects you, guides you, never to part. Have a little faith, mate. Nicely written and very religious in thought.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
