FALL

FALL

The leaves are falling now
like rain.
I stand beneath them
drenched in pain.
They dance to the ground
in perfect harmony
and their music soothes
and comforts me.
They all hit down
one by one.
I watch them
til my pain is gone.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
