    Poem Commentary

the power of love - not to be too cliche

    fallen

touch me again with your fingertips
paint your love letter into my skin
let your soul sigh my name, set my heart aflame
then tell me you love me again

the sea of your blue eyes beckons
I find myself held in their depths
let me not be afraid to let go of my pain
and the shame of the tears I have wept

    cover me like spring sunshine
    melt my hard winter away
no more snow, nor cold wind blow
you are my most perfect day

let our laughter write the harmony
    to smooth the roughest sea
    and glory in love, abandoned
to the joy that is you and me

let the stars witness in wonder
    a sight uncommonly rare
as night cloaks the sky, I contented, sigh
in your arms sleeping safe from despair

so work in my heart your magic
weave spells that both heal and bind
the truth of you is now shining through
I am yours as you are mine

forever can live in one moment
    lost destiny finally calling
hopes and dreams, come true, it seems
all I am has completely fallen

I just hope that the person this is intended for really grasps the emotion, beauty and love coming off this page. This poem is to be both experienced and appreciated. I love your work and your range as a poet. TEN

Such a drastic turn around from your previous writing and a beautifully written love poem if ever i've read one! Excellent!

    thanks Bear :) very much!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
