    Poem Commentary

    I could just go on and on, with these thoughts. So much to say, I just have to make sure I'm listening to the message!

    False Hopes

     You disappear and re-appear
    on a whim...
    all the while telling me
    this means something

    Somehow, despite myself,
    I still believe the lies
    just can't get past how true they seem
    when I look into those eyes

    I hear the words slip off your tounge
    while we're together for a while
    you make up such a story
    then you look at me and smile

    Can I help it, when your with me
    I want it to be legit?
    Can i help it, I have long grown tired
    of putting up with this shit?

    Yet somehow, you caste a spell on me
    you've got that inprint on my heart
    all within me cries your bad for me
    yet...give us a chance to start

    I fill the time, on just your terms
    and I'll always make time for you
    I play the role of such a fool
    your sparkling eyes my cue

    Why can't I move past
    when my head tells me "it's a line?"
    You sell yourself, and here's my heart
    I'd sign away on the dotted line

    I have a hidden agenda, I must.
    I see it when I analyze
    to have my cake and eat it too
    to have something real and also fantasize

    That's all you are...a false hope
    nothing more and nothing less
    everytime I've given in,
    I'm left...with such regrets

    I am proud of myself....I actually hand wrote this poem and handed it to the man it's about. I watched as he read it and I've asked him to not contact me again. He has respected that. There will always be a spot for him in my heart but I'm not holding on to something that is not going to hold on to me!

    Sometimes life can throw you some pretty mean curves. But, there is always hope when you press pass the past and reach for the end of the tunnel

    The heart has a mind of its own; its wants and desires often don't mesh with the mind; mind you never forsake the heart it too has its lesson to learn. The title I liked False Hopes; but there is nothing false about hope for without it we become hopeless about love then again falling hopelessly in love. I enjoyed your beautiful piece.     The timeless story of wanting ... to accept what is believed true, even knowing it temporary, a lie even. Yes, jumbled thoughts, if you don't write them down, you'll never sort them out. Keep writing, be well

    Thanks for reading my work. I had forgotten I had even written this one and had it open for the world to read, it's a fresh one. I have been sorting them through and writing is such a great tool for that for me! Thanks for your encouragement. I'll have to read some of your stuff soon!
