Far Away Thinking

Far Away Thinking

visions of days
knights in armor and ladies in waiting
roses bloom wildly below the balcony
castles of stone and granite
time cannot tell how long they have been there
my vision of a lady in emerald and gold
leaning over the balcony to her knight in dark armor
she bends to kiss his lips to a fond farewell
for he might not return from battle

her tears embrace his armor just as her lips touch his face
his hair  a firey red as that of her love for him
they have been together so long
longer than this love has been alive
souls intertwined through eternity
she knows him deeper than her love can comprehend

love so short due to a life ending in tragedy
their souls will find one another again
not soon enough to recollect the love they shared
forever will they be in each others lives
destiny has chosen the pair
