- it does not ever leave me, not that I can see it leaves from anyone else I've observed, either. .. but I am not it. it was an experience, of which I was a part. I am not it today, though it breathes silent in my past, it is not alive, and each day, I look less in the direction of it's noise and interference and each month I have forgotten more details, leaving them with the bones, I like them buried, deeper the better. I was an old baby, today I just I try to make the most of every second now... .what can I give to someone close by ? a word ? a wave hello ? a cut in my car lane with a smile ? With my attention, my eye-focused intention to be in your now, with hand, slowly walking in dark tunnels.... The neophytes of ancient Egypt were instructed to go into the secret door of the Sphinx [no longer a secret]. When the door closed, the first of 32 lessons began. It was dark, and the door did not open again and the nephyte soon discovered 32 steps down, one for each lesson of physical matter. [a successful neophyte would arrive in the King's chamber of the large pyramid not far away, which was Not a burial chamber, rather it was deliberately left empty and it was the final lesson] The filming crews of the 1980s identified a very thin, passageway on crumbling clay foot ledges, one after the other, down into the dark, and then the camera caught the many tunnels at the bottom, leading in all directions -- catacombs.. and more thin crevices, with which were filled with bones and failure. I did not join clubs in my life, but I study ancient knowlege, and have found that the door to the sphinx is not always listed in Egypt; but can be found right inside any life experience... there is no turning back. There is only going forward and here comes another new day... and I am grateful to have found your poems.
