    Fields of Gold

    These fields of gold,
    Ever surrounding us,
    Simple fences of life around,

    Green grass,
    Tempting us to wander,
    Looking so lush,

    Small taste at first,
Pure as honey so it seems,
The bitterness had not taken hold,

If I ever lose my faith in you?
    Would there be anything left?
Surrounded by these beautiful golden fields,

    Prize lost or it seems,
    The very thought of you,
    Brings pure joy,

    Followed by the tears,
    Which flow like spring breezes,
    Such emotions we feel,

There is no helping how I feel,
    My one and only,
Love is such two faced master,

    When things are right,
    So right,
Your soul is set on fire,

    But when things go wrong,
    A cruel mistress love is,
    The pain can crush most,

    Few truely understand,
    Even less actually survive,
    Once in awhile though,

    Mistress of love takes pitty,
    Smiles upon the broken hearted,
    Letting them know,

    If you love someone,
    Set them free,
    Love will find them again,

    The mistress has her moods,
Catch her in a good one,
    Love will return,

    Yet if not,
Then she will kiss you again,
    With sweet love,

    The time is right,
    You need to love yourself,
First before you can love another,

    Take those chains,
    Let them drop,
    Harder you hold on,

    Farther they will run,
    Love she won’t be chained,
Its not an easy thing to do,

    No need to walk away,
    Just set them free,
    And love will come again.....
