FINANCIAL BLUES

Poem Commentary

Hard times has affected all of us, but through the grace of God we will win we refuse to lose. It has made us stronger as a country, and has taught us not to take our financial status for granted.   D. Smith

FINANCIAL BLUES

Money is scarce as can be

Our wallets and purses are just as empty

These difficult times are taking a toll on us

Making our lives one big fuss

We hang on to hope

Like a never ending rope

Wondering when a change going to come

Realizing now that life isn't all that fun

As a family we are trying to keep food on the table

It's hard enough knowing that we are being labeled

Can't wait until these financial blues are in the past

Wishing instead for the good times

To come and forever last

I can relate to this poem and sympathize with your pain and frustration. There are things we can do to improve the situation.First we can pray for the wisdom to budget our money properly and for God to give our politicians the wisdom to make better choices and decisions, which will help everyone out.Second we can watch how the politicians vote on issues concerning our money and vote to elect politicians, who will pass laws to help out working class families;not just the special interests groups.Thirdly we can try to focus on the positive things we do have:a loving mate(if we have one),a good family,a nice home,a job, etc. Then finally we can try to live in the moment and stop and appreciate the simple things in life:a beautiful sunny day, quality time spent with those we love, etc.Keep the faith and keep on praying.Life will get better.

Again God has his reason. Humanity takes breathing for granted. We have to open our eyes and look at the big picture. It is not up to the goverment to make it better, it is up to US. We as a nation have to change our spending habits. Everyone, even the government is spending beyond our means. Change begins with US and it's time for change in order to maintain and remain.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
