     Finger Exercises

     

     

    Warming up

    your long fingers

    practicing your scales

    articulating each

    note lovingly

    limbering up

    gaining confidence

    you move andante

    through each run

    your long fingers

    picking up the tempo

    up and down

    you practice

    your scales

    as the minutes

    become timeless

    going allegro

    rippling arpeggios

    arouse my love

    of your music

    as those fingers

    race feverishly

    up and down

    the length

    of pure sound

    along the keys

    of my spine

    until finally

    your lithe fingers

    come to a rest

    in the sublime.

    Charles - I love the innuendos that you have included in this piece! Sounds very erotic in it's musical presentation! :) Great work! :) I was gonna say Job, but thought better of it! :) lol Ken

    This is a good poem. I used to be in Band so i know what it is like to move your fingers around to go up and down scales, and that works perfectly for what the true meaning of your poem is about.
