Finish It

Finish It

I think I have it all figured out
to a tee.
I'll stock pile my stash of
everything I can get a hold of,
from now until that day
tends to present itself.

I'll find my child a
suitable home so her life
doesn't consist of
States and Systems.
A place without shackles
and unbearable restrictions.
A place of creativity and love
that has no binds.
One with boundaries, but
no boot camp strategy's.

I think I have it all figured
out to a tee.

I'll wait till payday and
go to all the banks.
Get cashier checks
to be granted to the
bier of my estate.

I'll cowardly sulk my head
in a downward snap,
as my feet drag
entering a past tense place
four years of love and
livid memories.
Walls of shame,
tinted a smoke screen
shade of pale white.

I think I have it all figured
out too a tee.
I'll place myself just beneath
the 12" ceiling fan.
Ipod in one ear,
playlist of my favorite songs
so they will find
my message,
when my body is left behind.

I am beginning to feel all too contrite in pushing that ...."I like this button" .......once again for a poem that alludes to the speaker who would find a permanent solution to a temporary problem...But it is the poet I hold in esteem, who emotes with such powerful expression A chilling account of despair and coming to terms with "finishing it"

What a beautiful suicide you've penned here. The world is oftentimes just way too much

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
