    for gibran

Thought if I change you’d come back to me
It just pushed you further I see
How many times can I say sorry for the times?
The times when I hurt you& still say I love you
The times when I lied & still wanted trust
The time when I cheated & accused you just because
As I look at the times I’m scared of whom I was
The time has also taught me struggle in a brand new way
The time & struggle that has brought me here today
For years this paper & pen was my best friend
The time stole her away for many years and many days
Even though you chose to stay away
I know in you heart I have a place to stay
Can’t say I’m sorry over and over
I just thought the best way was to show ya
I can stay clean or kick that bad habit
Running around High like a silly Rabbit
Always used to look for that quick fix
Those drunken nights and lazy days I do not miss
The only thing I wish I could change
Is that I kicked the that bad habit b4 u gave me your name
You took that shit back like a thief in the night
Didn’t make me do nothing but wanna take flight
I bounced to Virginia to start a new life
Good decision because now I enjoy my life
Spend money on expensive wine and champagne
No more binge drinking and cocaine
Never have to worry about my RX weed
    Always have that abundantly
When you left me thought is was the end of the world
I know I will never love another girl
So I hope you’re ok that I found a good Man
The way he treats me I’m happy again
Never thought I could experience love again for real
I’m ok that your not here with me
Just want you to know I’ll love you always endlessly

    bitter-sweet. :)

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
