Forever After

They sit on the soft warm grass of Spring
underneath a loving Sun
leaning over a canvas together
gentle brushstrokes, subtle glances
divinely vulnerable, their hearts a flutter
the warm breeze dancing in her velvet hair
with the scent of the swaying grass
Her voice, delicious to his ears
her eyes insatiable to his soul
A slight curve of the brush, fingertips touch,
the soft and assuring nudge of destiny
Time stands frozen in their special orb
and all he can see is her beauty
that delicate but unmistakable radiance
Spirit clad in skin
His hand moves to hers, fingers interlock
Their bodies move closer, their faces close
Feeling each other’s quickening breath
On the craving skin, the eager lips
Intoxicated from each other
The warm Spring scent, and all is a haze
The spark catches, wraps around them
The Gods smile warmly
A sweet dance of kisses, a slow song of touch
as if from a thousand years of rehearsal
They shed their clothes, in a lovely trance
and lay on the canvas
Paint on skin, surreal patterns forming
Insects in chorus, green leaves falling
Divine expression
No brush or oils, just love, passion
colouring their bare bodies, so wildly, freely
So very madly in love
under the loving Sun

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
