FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS
FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS
We have celebrated the soldiers of war,
what about the family at home?
Holding down the main fort,living
without his/her mate's
physical comfort. Left to make
miracles exist with the mostly financial support.
What about the brave soldiers, who didn't make it back ?
The family gets a funeral service, a flag, and a
government check.
Suddenly , the family becomes unfamiliar,
fading away into the shadows,
as if they never existed.
Was the battle truly won, or was
it all in vain ?
The families are definitely still pain .
The soldier is revered as brave, honorable,upstanding
while in war.
Once he returns to civilization he's a chore,
fighting to deprogram his memory of the horrific
sights .
While trying to fit in with ignorant people ,
who could never imagine his plight.
blind to the reason of why
this soldier must sleep with the lights.
Forever trapped in a nightmare,
to look in his eyes it's an evil stare.
people he risked his life to save, now look
on with little care.
