Forsake Me

Forsake Me

I see the rage in your eyes
The passion in your voice
The disturbing swings
I see the wild in others
As I see in me
As I know so well
I see the tears down my face
I see the smeared make up
I feel the swell in my chest
That threatens to help me stop my breathing
I see the pain I give and take
I see the life I tried to forsake
And I’m doing my best to keep it at bay.
