Re: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!Hi I'm new to the site. I have recently launded a poetry book entitled "The Journey Home" by Ladee Basset. It is a collection of 100 poems by me (the same author), all of the poems are written in the traditional poetic format. There are love poems, pet poems, educational poems and historical poems. Poetry is something very personal and I believe that it comes from the heart. I do hope that you'll take an interest and read this book cover to cover. I have a website of www.LadeeBasset.com. I do hope you'll check it out. |

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!Hi everyone, I haven't been on Original Poetry for that long. I have never posted or sent in any of my poems before. I've never thought they were good enough. So this is a big step for me. I was hoping to get some feed back on my work so I can have the encouragement to keep writing. Thank you |

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!A first timer on this post, and I don't have any idea where this will post or on whose thread it will land. I will be interested in open, honest, civil-minded critiques; that follow the websites parameters. And I will be more than happy to reciprocate |

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!It's a welcome relief to find a site where there seems to be a genuine emphasis on constructive critique. I look forward to being a part of that. |

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!Can you guys check out my poem called: For Derek. I'm not sure if it's good or not because you see I like writing poetry but i don't know if I'm good at it or not. So give me some feedback if you can. Thanks you guys! Also check out Marlo's poem called He Shall Not. It's all on the same account. |

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!Aren't this a wonderful resource of poetic knowledge. I hope this website will be here for a very long time, and thanks to those who continue to make it possible. |

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!This is indeed a great resource of poetic knowledge. It is a wonderful opportunity to share and interact with people of similar interests and hope that the operators of this site will continue to be purveyors of great poetry |

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!I personaly feel that it takes all types of poetry to make a book interesting. I feel that any poet does their best to write what is in their heart. What ever the subject be. A lot of people are new to poetry.I want to give them a good jump start and hand they deserve it. Poetry takes a lot of thought. Any write worth doing deserves a chance. |
The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
