Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!

I personaly feel that it takes all types of poetry to make a book interesting. I feel that any poet does their best to write what is in their heart. What ever the subject be. A lot of people are new to poetry.I want to give them a good jump start and hand they deserve it. Poetry takes a lot of thought. Any write worth doing deserves a chance.
If you run into a poem about darkness or sex and feel uncomfortable about it, simply do not respond to it. If you do not write about it ,one way or the other, you are not going to hurt anyone. If you don't like a poem. There is a dislike place to say so. I feel any remark should be done in a repectful manner.
The things I talk about here are simply an opinion. One rule for certain, is to follow the sites regulations ,rules asked of us.It is a pleasure to have a place to share and to write our work and poems. It is an even better opprotunity to have a way to talk to and to meet poet friends. Everyone on this site has talent of their own to share. Thank you Original Poetry for everything you offer. grin

There needs to be more meaningful posts interaction and vibrancy. It's rather passive here.red facered face

RE: Sticky: READ BEFORE POSTING!

Might anyone suggest the method, (which I seem to have overlooked somewhere, somehow, someway this day), to create spaces between
the lines of a rime when posting?

I.e.:

abcd
efgh
ijkl
mnop
qrst
uvwx
yz

vs:

abcd
efgh

ijkl
mnop

qrst
uvwx

yz

My attempt to post a rime within my account page was thwarted when the rime
(in the published version) appeared with no breaks from start to finish.
I deleted it... thought to ask advice... just a little bit... a'care not of the price.
This is OUTSTANDING news! Firstly it gets rid of that nonsense that was going on, and secondly, it makes people give constructive criticism....not bashing...I think it's great; I always felt a little wierd even rating a poem on a scale of 1-10, because I felt, who am I to rate someone else's feelings and experiences? These poems are personal stuff! Anyway, I think it is unfortunate that the webmaster has to remind everyone to be cordial and respectful, but I am grateful that he/she/they are taking this step.
Hi, Cousin. I don't mean this as a criticism, nor any kind of derogatory
meaning, but once you press "submit" you have to take your finger off
the mouse....otherwise what happens is this post of yours is posted
about 15 times.
hmmm

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
