Steve Danuser WoW Shadowlands Interview

The specter of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands looms large over not just the in-game world, but the context of the entire game and its history, too. While World of Warcraft expansions have never lacked for original story - though fans will continue to debate which of those are best - they've rarely given the narrative such a wide-open chance to resurrect its most beloved beats in the same way Shadowlands will. World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is set within the realm of the dead, after all, and after over 15 years of storytelling in World of Warcraft alone, the game's lore isn't lacking for characters who've met with untimely ends.To get more news about buy WoW items, you can visit lootwowgold official website.

That's the balance that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will have to navigate: the introduction of a new world, and a host of new characters who need their own time to develop and become memorable, alongside the temptation and demand to bring back some of the characters who fans might never see again otherwise. Just bringing back a Shadowlands Arthas narrative would feel cheap, however, and the team behind the expansion has thankfully avoided making someone like him the central piece of its evolving story. Instead, the game will seek to give players some glimpses into moments and ideas that are new to the game, alongside the continuing story of Sylvanas' transformation from reclusive leader to war criminal and what that means for the rest of Azeroth. To say there's a lot going on in World of Warcraft's story right now would be an understatement - lore that's been built up over two decades (Warcraft III is really where many of these stories began) can become dense.

With World of Warcraft: Shadowlands slated to release later this year, fans are eager to see how their favorite characters will grapple with a new challenge in the face of a collection of spiritual planes known as the titular Shadowlands. With each realm in the Shadowlands so distinct, as shown in the Afterlives cinematic videos, there's a lot of room for different stories to unfold alongside the main plot. Luckily, Screen Rant had the chance to conduct a Q&A session with Steve Danuser, Lead Narrative Designer behind World of Warcraft. He was able to shed some light on the building of the beautiful World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Afterlives cinematic shorts, the way the expansion's new world has been informed by complex situations that challenge notions of good and evil, and the new perspectives fans will get on some of World of Warcraft's most intriguing lore.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
