Frail Stormclouds

Frail Stormclouds

If everything else falls apart
and I’m left wallowing in the remains of my own shadow,
with no love left to breathe
With no soul underneath
the frail disguise of who I never really was
I will still have this chest full of memories
from behind the waterfall that use to be my eyes
until the avalanche of lies consumed my last fighting chance at redemption
with the invention of such ties to who I am now
and who you hope to be once this storm passes over you and me
and places our feet on grounds more stable
than all of the words that I was ever able
to cast into the night like stars to light the path we had chosen
still frozen in the eternal moment of indecision
overgrown with fatigue, while still in league
with the side of myself unhindered by the likes of logic and common sense
with the pretense that events unfolding in the as of yet undiscovered caves of time will eventually bring about the song sung by flaming tongues
which was meant to realign my dreams with who I was meant to be
before I blocked out the sun and came undone from the sweet melody
of the one lie that I simply could not ignore....
which was- that to fight for my own pleasure was the reason I was put here for.
