     You were a great friend to me, I will never forget you,
     Mary

    Froggy

     nineteen sixty-six
    country's in a fix

    eye's a glaze
    life's a daze

    hate the war
    smoke some more

    had a brother
    then-- no more

    sat on the floor
    drank some more...

    can't remember
    that much more


    May your soul rest in peace, where-ever you may be.
    remembering the sixties!

    It is true, some wounds of life end up fatal, after all. this kind of collateral damage the military never counts. Terse, powerful, pointed, wistful. You fill a lot with a little.

    A fine tribute work you've crafted pertaining to a 60's friend. Uncanny resemblance to a younger Bob Dylan.

    Thank you, actually the photo is a younf Dylan, I do not have a picture of Froggy, but they could have passed for twins. I'm glad you liked the poem. Thanks, mary

    Sadness revisited and loss because of another war. Ah, I just hate that word.....WAR..... Postscript: I still know veterans bearing the scars, both in body and mind, and what did they get. Nada And, the wars continue. I loved those servicepeople but felt that war was resources lost. The most valuable of all resources: humanity

    This poem is about a boy i went to high school with, his older brother was killed in Vietnam, he was so sad, that he did so many drugs, he finall overdosed, and then he was gone too. So sad. Thanks for all your comments. Mary

    and, Mary, a lot of our boys came home from Vietnam hooked on drugs...what a travesty...I try to remember what you always say...one at a time we have to change things for the better; one at a time May our Lord say 'basta' something my mom used to say when things got too sad or confusing...
