    Frozen Breath

    My breath misting on the glass,

    Choking back my fear –

    Watching the shadow in the night

    Drawing slowly near.

     

    Pressed against the window,

    Frozen to the core

    I pray this figure turns his back,

    And will haunt me no more.

     

     

     I watch this man approach,

    His gaze fixed on me,

    I'm trapped in his cold, dead eyes,

    Longing to be free.

     

     

    Looking through the frosty glass,

    I see my own scared face.

    I know that if he finds me,

    I'll be gone without a trace.

     

     

    I watch this shadowed figure,

    Stalking me like death.

    And by dawn all that is left of me,

    Is on the glass- my frozen breath.
