    Fury Within

    Its getting darker
    slipping further into silence
    the voices are present
    It is chaos!
    Looking out I am smiling
and inward I am scared, hurting , confused
    The walls are closing in
A few steps away from leaping
    I have to break FREE!
    BOOM!
    Exploding with fire, lashing out
Hurting them the way they hurt me
    Calmness is upon me now.

Silence before the storm. I liked the "BOOM" Marking a change in direction of the poem.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
