Gathering Light

Gathering Light

the darkest hours summon the dawn
brimming the east, gathering light
substance of truth shining in spite
of dangers, of innocence gone

none can quench it, nor can withdraw
truth from substance or love contrite
the darkest hours summon the dawn
brimming the east, gathering light

seeking through shadow, ask and wrong
the truth will find, rally, unite
challenging love to stand and fight
lest we fall blind, silenced beyond...
the darkest hours summon the dawn

Impressive! The arrangement in quatrains is appropriate to the heme ,as this format affords smooth flow and consistency of rhythm. Quatrains also aid perfectiveness of the lines and better enable the reader to focus on the theme. Quatrains and rhyming present a very pleasing effect to the artistic cosmetics of this poem. The theme is logically developed by appropriate diction and imagery I am now telling myself that I have got to get used to un-punctuated poetry. I love the experiential element of the first stanza. "the darkest hours summon the dawn brimming the east, gathering light substance of truth shining in spite of dangers, of innocence gone" My rating for this piece of poetic jewellery is a full 10 Reply to Comment

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
