Gentle and Kind
You fight
You pray
That someday
You’ll find your way
Lost in a world
Full of turmoil and hate
Hoping you’ll make it
Before it’s too late
Hurting inside with
Every step you take
People everywhere glaring
No one to give you a break
Just another victim
Of a cruel fathers wrath
Trying to figure out now
Which is the right path
My life seems similar
To a ping pong ball
Trying to avoid
My next big fall
The question
Is always there
Why me what did I do
This is certainly not fair
You hope, you pray
The hurt and pain
Will surely, certainly
Go away someday
Your heart tells you
To be kind and gentle
But those angry feelings
Leave you stuck in the middle
You try oh so hard
To always do it right
But everywhere and everything
Is always a brutal fight
You start to wonder
If anyone really cares
They just stand around
Looking with blank stares
Running everyday through
Life’s bumps and grinds
Praying that this time
You can be gentle and kind
Being criticized at
Every conceivable turn
Constantly hoping and praying
You don’t crash and burn
You move rapidly forward
To help others and give back
But still there are those
Who cut you no slack
Things start to happen
That start clouding your dreams
Seems no one really cares
Always the way it seems
This wasn’t my fault
Why do I have to pay
The question I ask
No one has anything to say
So I made my stand
Jesus reached out, gave me a hand
Lord with you I can do good
No longer will I be misunderstood
Now he sends angels to help
Me all of the time
Honestly the ones he sends
Are an over whelming surprise
Then one day my youngest daughter
Stopped me and said “Dad I Love You”
“But for true peace of mind
Your heart must be set always
ON GENTLE AND KIND”
Dedicated to my daughter Crystal Timms
Thanks for planting a seed in my
Heart that has already changed
My life “I Love You” Dad
