    Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem for my mom's funeral I knew she like for me to write poems she always enjoyed them and I know by faith that she enjoyed this one.

    God whispers

Hush my child just rest for a while I knew when you cried through the hurt and the pain
I gave you strength comfort and peace even when you
thought the toils of life would never cease
I loved you unconditionally since the womb nothing can keep you from me not even when the candle light of life stop burning bright
Your heart knows that life is eternal and love is immortal and death is only a horizon
no more tears to shed no more cry no more sleep for now
your spirit soars in the bosom of the eagle the wings carried by his promise
the shadows lengthen and the evening close and all is hushed
you had a strong and long fight as being tried in a fiery furnace but your spirit never yielded it only trusted and held on by faith which pleased me
God who makes cheerfulness the companion of strength
I looked down from Heaven and beheld my daughter coming home you will rise and see the glorified light
your precious work is done she's a Holy peace at last
you are the daughter of alpha and omega the king of kings
the Lord of Lords the I am Holy one eternal father onmipenent redeemer and your God

"bye for now I love you all I know it hurts you but it is blessed for me"

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
