    Poem Commentary

    one of the ways some people deal with the pain of a broken heart. a story as old as time.

    GOOD FRIENDS
    after she left i hurt everyday
    the pain she left wouldn't go away
    then i met a couple that became my good friends
    now thanks to them i'm happy again
    thanks to you vicadine and jim beam
    i get through the day without feeling a thing
    i know i hurt but i don't feel the pain
    thanks to you vicadine and jim beam

    sometimes her memory sneeks up on me
    when i'm noy looking knocks me to my knees
    but thanks to a couple of my good friends
    i bounce right back on my feet again
    thanks to you vicadine and jim beam
    i get through the day without feeling a thing
    i know i hurt but i don't feel the pain
    thanks to you vicadine and jim beam

    i know my story has been told before
    i'm not the first man to ever walk the floor
    i'm sure there are better ways to get by
    but i'm too far gone to even try
