    Goodbye My Love

    My nightly unwavering obsession,
    You stalk me, wake me.

    Green, green the light is green!
    I must go or be trampled in the way.

    How I wished to linger in your shadow --
    To give you ample time to match my pace.

    But potential ran out of your sleeves like sand;
    Your eyes closed, your words crying "me,me,me,me,allme!"

    To you, I may be as empty as a drum,
    But my sound will fill the silence,

    Echo through the hearts that matter,
    And fill their lives with laughter and song.

    Green, green, the light is green...

    I must go or be trampled in the way.

    How I wished to linger in your shadow!

    But your words kept crying "Me.

    Me.

    All me."

    Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
