GoodBye

GoodBye

Your eyes are closed while I stare at you...
Distant memories stream ever so softly
Your laugh, your smile...
We must part ways
Summers held our hearts
While the winters warmed our soul
We learned about life...
We learned about sorrow
Experienced joy
And love undeniably began to grow
Never knew it would end like this
Feels like life dealt a Judas kiss
I have been broken into pieces
I  stand before you shattered inside
Assumed we could somehow
Manipulate the hands of time...
But I am facing this day
As the tears bleed from my eyes
I place the rose on the casket
And solemnly say good-bye.

Thank you, I appreciate your time and comment.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
