    I didn't know she would like the snow so much. Perhaps FINNISH might have been a clue.'-)

    Goodnite - my Finnish Spitz

    Flocked are my beautiful trees
    From fog and cold morning air
    When in the light stirring breeze
    My dog thrives on being out there

    Bounding and jumping for joy
    Snout pushing snow like a plow
    With Winter becomming her toy
    She stops while she takes in the NOW

    Into the house she now races
    Wet from snout to her tail
    On to the floor water traces
    Now I get out mop and  pail

    Yes, 'tis nice to see winter
    But outside where it should belong
    I'll stay inside by the vintner
    Until I can sing a Springs' song

    She loves bounding through the snow and rolling in it, then this black dog comes in with a white face - just as pleased as she can be.

    My dog does the same thing. I think being at home, as snug as a bug-in-a-rug is the perfect plan for winter. Lovely poem.

    Stryx, A very interesting and stylistic about cleaning up snow after one's dog has come in. The antiquated word choices certainly give this poem an aura of days gone by. ginga

    Yes, I've not used a mop or pail for years...the rest is true today.

    Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
